Music is integral to our worship of God. Where words falter, music steps in to lift our voices, hearts and minds into the presence of God.
Through hymns, praise songs, the songs of children and choral anthems as well as a multitude of various solos through the year, both instrumental and vocal, Center UMC celebrates a varied, diverse and rich heritage of worship through music.
The Chancel choir is open to anyone 13 years old and older. The choir presents a weekly anthem for worship as well as special programs at Easter and Christmas. Reading music is not required! As long as you have a desire and a will to sing with our choir, YOU ARE WELCOME! The choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 in the sanctuary and rehearses for an hour.
CHANCEL CHOIR
The Chancel Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Choir performs in the 11:00 a.m. Traditional service. We present anthems in a variety of musical styles. Our choir is open to all and features several performances throughout the year.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR
All Children ages preschool to 4th grade are invited to ba apart of the Children's choir. Each Sunday during the 11 a.m. Traditional service, the children perform. (From September through May). Choir practice is each Wednesday night from 6:30-7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
HANDBELL CHOIR
Our handbell rehearses each Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The Choir occasionally performs in the 11:00 a.m. Traditional service using different anthems and styles.
PRAISE TEAM
Our praise team leads the contemporary service, centered, at 8:45 on Sunday mornings. This group leads worship with primarily top mainstream contemporary Christian music such as you might hear any day on KLOVE. All vocalists and instrumentalists are welcome! We are especially seeking male vocalists and instrumentalists to grow this ministry- a guitar and bass player and a drummer.
