For over half a century, Center United Methodist Church has been the premier sponsoring organization for the Boy Scouts of America within the Welcome community. Our scouting programs cover Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts and serve youth from ages 7 through age 18. Over the years hundreds of Scouts and trained adults have participated in Scouting programs at Center and have gone out into the community as a force for good.
Scouting programs are dedicated to the development of Citizenship, Character, and Physical fitness. Our Scouting ministry is an outreach to the local community for the training and development of tomorrow's leaders. Scouting programs instill in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that will continue to influence them in their adult lives.
Through the Scouting program Center United Methodist Church provides youth with programs and activities that allow them to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, and reinforce ethical standards. Scouts learn by DOING. While various activities and other youth organizations and groups teach basic skills and promote teamwork, Scouting goes beyond that and develops practical skills for living, leading, and problem solving.
